Description
Head office building for XL Insurance. This project involved designing a future-proofed, flexible structured cabling infrastructure for maximum relocation flexibility. The two buildings have raised-access floors throughout with consolidation point wiring. To protect against technical obsolescence, a high-performance Category 6 UTP cabling system was implemented, as well as high-availability, high-bandwidth network backbone using dual-routed single-mode and multimode fibre optic cabling. Due to the need for flexibility, and accentuated by the high cost of labour in Bermuda, a plugable wiring system was designed and constructed in Canada, allowing the entire system to be plugged into place on site.
